Tips To Help 'Moms To Be' Before The Baby Arrives: Sending Baby Shower Thank You Cards And More Posted By : Chris Harmen

Post Date: 2010-11-09 Preparing for a new addition to the family is a very exciting time, and it just doesn't last long enough! Everyone wants to hear the news, and everyone seems to have more advice than any one family could ever follow. The bottom line is that there are simply so many details that need attending to before that little bundle of joy arrives. Having a to-do list can make all the difference between things getting done or not. Many new mothers-to-be do not realize the exhaustion that comes with a new infant in the home. It is far easier to handle things today than after the birth of the littlest family member.

Final preparations include decorating the nursery, stocking up on essential supplies, and sending out those baby shower thank you cards. It's also a good idea to cook freezable meals now for those nights when no one has the energy to cook.

While many of the essentials may appear to only be only as far away as the nearest store, having a new infant in the home can turn even those simple trips into unmanageable ordeals. To prevent many of the unnecessary stresses experienced by new parents, a baby shower registry is not only useful in letting loved ones know what is wanted and needed, but it is also an excellent organizational tool for making sure everything gets done before the little darling arrives.

Registry Realities

Preplanned baby shower registries can be a useful tool in ensuring that the mom-to-be receives essential items long before the little angel arrives. Registries are organized by different rooms, activities, and ages of the infant. There is usually room for items that will be needed by the new parents as well. Starting with a registry and adding items not listed creates a simple list that can be used to get and stay organized.

Using the registry list and comparing it to the list of baby shower gifts already received is a simple way of identifying those items that are still needed. Sitting quietly at home without the constant interruptions and overwhelming tiredness that comes with a new infant makes this an ideal opportunity to reminisce over the shower, organize photographs, prepare baby shower thank you cards for mailing, and make sure there are enough diapers. Those cotton diapers your grandmother swore by are coming back in vogue for plenty of good reasons, including being significantly cheaper than disposables and far better for the environment. They also happen to make some of the best cleaning rags ever invented! Since many of the baby shower attendees will also be receiving baby announcements, this is also an excellent time to organize addresses, envelopes, and to purchase stamps.

Getting Organized

Despite good intentions, most moms-to-be are overly idealistic about what they will be able to accomplish once the baby is born. Even simple activities, such as paying bills, visiting with family and friends, or running to the market can become extremely difficult. Baby announcements, Christmas cards, and other correspondence can be made far easier by ordering online from a reputable supplier that will provide matching baby announcements and preprinted envelopes. Shower guests may have been asked to address their own baby shower thank you cards envelopes. A computerized database of address information can go a long way toward making it easy to design, order, sign, and mail out a variety of correspondence.

Timing Is Everything

With a little one on the way, timing is everything. Near the end of the pregnancy, there is just no way to tell how much free time is left. Life is about to change in ways that are simply unimaginable. Buying the essentials, sending out correspondences, and preparing the nursery simply must be done as soon as possible. In the same way, designing baby announcements ahead of time can prevent a lot of stress and allows time to select the theme, layout, and personalized message before the little one even arrives. Once the baby is born, you can easily add birth time, weight, birth photographs, and other information, instead of starting from scratch.

While you have the time, use a registry and your baby shower thank you cards list to determine what still needs doing. This way, you will have the time you need to buy the essentials, decorate the nursery, and send out those unique baby shower thank you cards, designed by you and inspired by the newest member of your family!

How Early In Pregnancy Do You Need Maternity Clothes Posted By : Adriana Noton

Post Date: 2010-06-17 All the symptoms are there and the test shows a pink plus sign, even the doctor confirmed your suspicions, you are definitely having a baby. As an expectant mother a million things are probably running through your mind and one of those things is probably how your body is going to change over the next nine months. So you may ask yourself, how early in pregnancy do you need maternity clothes.

There really is not set rule or time frame on when to start. Most women start in the second trimester around four or five months, while others may need to start soon after finding out. The only rule to really follow is that when you start to feel uncomfortable in prepregnancy clothes is the time to seriously consider doing a bit of shopping.

You'll find that today the clothes to accommodate expecting mothers are a long way from the clothes your mother wore. They are more fashionable, more comfortable and come in a lot more different styles, shapes and colors. Finding tops to wear isn't that hard, there are so many to choose from within the maternity line and out of. But when it comes to jeans and pants that is when things get a bit tricky. Locating a good pair is necessary, usually you'll need more than one, as your body will change throughout and you'll need something more comfortable the closer to the due date you get.

There are many different styles of maternity jeans to choose from, so picking the right one is easier now than before. You can be fashionable and comfortable at the same time because of the attention now paid to maternity clothing. Many different designers cater just to expecting mothers.

Some jeans have the front panel only, with the back part of the jean looking normal and the front with a stretchy material that goes over the bottom half of your belly. And there are some that have an interior adjustable stretchy waist. This allows your waistband to grow with your belly and they can last throughout the whole experience if the legs are roomy enough. These types are usually the most comfortable at the start for some women.

The belly band style is one of the most popular today though. The jeans begin under the belly and the belly band, which is a stretchy material, goes up over your belly, normally within two or three inches of the breasts. These types are especially comfortable for those who enjoy the hip hugger style of jean in keeping in their prepregnancy fashion style.

You will also find jeans with the belly band that can be folded down or pulled up, depending on what feels most comfortable for you. These are a good choice for those who want the extra support under the belly, by keeping the band folded down.

Asking how early in pregnancy do you need maternity clothes can give you a multitude of answers as each pregnancy is different. But as soon as you start to feel a bit more comfort is needed in your clothing then it is time to start checking out the shops for what you need. Think about buying just a few pieces of a time to get started and letting your body decide when the next shopping trip is.

Wondering How Early In Pregnancy Do You Need Maternity Clothes? Posted By : Adriana Noton

AppId is over the quota

By: Adriana Noton
Post Date: 2010-07-12 Finding out you are pregnant can be a joyous time, thinking about the months and years ahead of being a mother. But you may also have your mind on your wardrobe, thinking about how your body is going to change over the next few months and how you'll handle that. So you may be wondering how early in pregnancy do you need maternity clothes.

As each pregnancy is different and every body changes at its own pace, there is not true time frame or rule on when to start. There are some women who start around four or five months along during the second trimester, but others that have to start very early into the pregnancy. The only thing you have to remember is that when your old clothes start to feel uncomfortable, it is time to take a little shopping trip.

When you take your first little shopping venture one of things that you'll notice right away is that these clothes are nothing like your mother wore in your condition. They have style, comfort, real shape and colors to enhance your look, not hide it. You will be able to find a lot of tops with little problem, even non-maternity tops can do the job. But when you get to finding the right jeans, this is where you need to think carefully. Most likely you'll need more than one pair, as your body will be doing a lot of changing over the next nine months, but you want to comfortable the whole time.

Today's maternity jeans come in a variety of styles for you to pick from and you'll have no problem choosing the right one for you. You'll still be able to be fashionable while being comfortable at the same time because manufacturers are paying more attention to clothing lines for expectant mothers, you'll even find designers that create just for the mothers-to-be.

As there are many different styles, there are also many different ways they are made. You'll discover that some only have a front panel keeping the back of the jeans their normal look. And, others will have an adjustable waist that is built into the interior of the waistband. That type of designs allows the jean waistband to grow with your belly, lasting throughout the pregnancy as long as you have one with roomy legs. Some women find these the most comfortable to begin with.

One of the most popular styles today is the belly band. This is where the jeans start right below the belly and the stretchy belly band goes up over the growing belly. This usually stretches within a few inches of the breast line. If you are the type that enjoys the hip hugger style of jeans, then you may find these the most comfortable while keeping with your fashion sense.

Some women prefer a bit more support under a growing belly, and for those women they have the belly band that folds down. This makes it very versatile, you can choose to fold it down or pull it up depending on what is comfortable for you that day.

If you ask your friends or even your mother how early in pregnancy do you need maternity clothes, each of them will give you a different answer, because each pregnancy is different. So you'll have to use your own comfort zone to decide when it is best for you to start wearing them. When you do decide to buy a few pieces, start with just a few items, don't buy a whole wardrobe till your body shows you whether you'll really need it or not.

Couples Find Hope Of Having A Family With Vitro Fertilization Posted By : Jordan McPelt

AppId is over the quota
By: Jordan McPelt
Post Date: 2011-02-04 The choice to begin a family is one that many husbands and wives end up deciding on with no difficulty. For a small number of married couples, that choice is difficult to do through due to some complications, one of them turning out to be infertility. One of the approaches by which infertile couples find a way to continue to start their family is through IVF. In vitro fertilization is the process in which the mans sperm and the woman's eggs are put together in a laboratory and inserted by using a professionally trained doctor. This particular procedure does not always succeed the couple times a couple attempts it, but for many, this is the only route they could venture down to have a good possibility at having the kids they want. In vitro fertilization has many advantages and the effectiveness can make it an ideal choice for a certain types of married couples.

IVF is a medical procedure that young couples turn to to be pregnant when the male has infertility issues, or the female has obstructed, damaged or missing fallopian tubes, or even a medical problem called endometriosis. It is also used in partners which have tried for a long period of time without success with unexplained fertility complications. Once this approach is decided on, the woman has her eggs taken from her ovaries and combined with the males sperm in a medical laboratory. This way, both are usually fertilized and then transferred to the woman's uterus to determine if a successful pregnancy can take place. The process always transfers two to four embryos into the woman's uterus, causing multiple births some of the time. The success percentage rate is almost 22.8% live births to egg retrieval, giving hope to many couples.

IVF was initially introduced and successfully utilized in 1981 in the United States, and has since delivered over 45,000 babies to couples. The first successful baby to be conceived through this approach was in 1978 to Louise Brown, supervised by doctor Robert G. Edwards. He was the physician who developed this process and has since won the Nobel Prize in Physiology Medicine. This approach is said as being a safe and effective means for husbands and wives to attain being a parent who otherwise have no chance for pregnancy. It can be a costly approach, with each cycle running a couple almost $80,000 dollars if not more, but for couples which have their heart and soul fixed on a child of their own, it can be a extraordinary road to go down. Every couple needs to take time to consider their options and the procedure with their medical professional to decide if it is an ideal procedure for them.

For newlyweds that find themselves having difficulty conceiving a child in a natural way, they have to begin looking at other medical avenues to conceive. IVF has become not just a safe medical alternative, but a successful one. Though there's always a gamble with every medical procedure, it is said to be a fairly safe one for both the female and the male to go through in order to achieve their dream of being parents. Each and every husband and wife deserves the ability to be dads and moms, and this method results in even medically challenged couples the chance to have a child.

By: Natalia Kobseva
Post Date: 2010-09-07 When it comes to celebrating the birth of a baby the traditional thing to do would be to hold a baby shower for the pregnant women. Many people do this all over the world, and the baby shower is an important event because it includes pretty much every close friend and family member who is going to be a part of the baby's life in some way or another. But those who are having the baby shower can invite pretty much anyone that they want, however, many people have trouble finding the perfect give for the soon-to-be-mother.

An excellent gift for her and her unborn child, though, is a baby shower gift basket. There are plenty of ways to create the perfect baby shower gift basket and there are so many choices available that you'll probably have trouble deciding what to include and what to leave out of the gift basket. But here are some suggestions if a gift basket is what you're trying to create for the mother-to-be and her unborn boy or girl.

Baby Products

There are so many things that the mother is going to need right off the bat after the baby is born. Diapers are just one of those necessary items, although, diapers are also another frequently given gift. If you are going to include diapers in your gift basket, though, one suggestion for laying them out would be to line the inside border of the baby shower gift basket with diapers so that they are going all the way around.

A few of the other baby products that should be included are baby lotions, baby bath soap, baby wash cloths, and baby oils. All of these baby shower gifts are things that the mother will need for her baby when the little one arrives so preparing the mother with everything possible is a good idea!

Mother's Gifts

Of course you also don't want to leave out the mother when creating your baby shower gift basket. There are plenty of products that could be included for the mother-to-be, such as relaxation products that will help her to relax when she's worried about her pregnancy and the near-future birth. A few ideas to include would be stress balls, votive candles, as well as a variety of hot tea products. It may be also a good idea to include lotions and bath products for the mother as well. Lotions, such as stretch mark reduction cream, will definitely be much appreciated in the baby shower gift basket.

Simply put, there are many gifts and possibilities that one has when creating the perfect gift basket for a baby shower guest of honor. Chances are that no matter what you fill the gift basket with the mother will appreciate everything inside. Baby showers are the one event where creativity can show through, so you may just want to put on your thinking cap before going out to buy things to put in the baby shower gift basket in the first place!

Day Care - Know What to Consider Before You Choose Posted By : Andrew Stratton

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota
By: Andrew Stratton
Post Date: 2010-06-29 If you have decided to put your children in day care while you work, you have probably already made the difficult decision of whether to use an in-home setting or a company environment. If you have chosen the latter, you now need to select the best one for your kids. Consider some of the following points before you decide.

Many parents want their children to experience a structured environment in which they can not only be cared for, but also learn. Most places that run a day care in a building as opposed to a home setting are quite organized, with specific activities planned for different times. Education that is age-appropriate is usually a big part of the plan for such settings, so be sure to find out what you can expect your child to learn. You should also know the teaching qualifications of those in charge before they educate your kids.

Just like anywhere else you take your kids, you should feel comfortable that safety is a priority at the day care you choose. Make sure there are not glaring safety issues, such as large items that could fall on small kids, cords laying around, or electrical sockets that are not covered. You should pay attention to cleanliness, since areas with lots of children need to be cleaned often to remain sanitary.

Additionally, you should find out what the day care you are interested in offers everyday. For example, you should know how often the children are fed, whether they have snacks, and what kind of food they can expect. You should also know which age groups have naptime, whether they will have story time, and how often they will get exercise, whether in the form of physical education or just recess. This way, you can have an idea of what your kids will be doing everyday while you are at work, and you can also compare the activities that different providers plan in order to choose the best one for your child.

Getting recommendations from other parents is also a good idea. This way, you can form a short list of the best ones you have heard about, and then compare different aspects when you visit each day care. Once you have made a decision, you can rest assured that you put a lot of time and thought into it to ensure that your children are going to the best provider possible.

Twins Clothing Helping You To Prepare For The Unexpected Posted By : Dominic Donaldson

AppId is over the quota
By: Dominic Donaldson
Post Date: 2010-06-10 Children, they can be little bundles of joy or they can be the biggest pain in the world when you are tired, but we wouldn't change them for the world. Sometimes when you fall pregnant you end up with more than you had originally bargained for, you know the feeling, you go for your first scan and instead of being one bump there is a second one and you suddenly realise that you are going to have twins.

As soon as the ultrasonographer gives you this piece of news your whole world can be turned upside down. There are so many things that you have to think about, for a start you will have to start looking at twins clothing and making extra preparations for the arrival of your new babies. Thankfully there are a number of companies that offer affordable and funky twins clothing that will have the two new arrivals in your life looking stylish and trendy throughout the year of 2010.

I'm personally someone who loves to see funny clothes; they just seem to put people in a good mood. I've been walking down the street before in a bad mood and then caught a glimpse of a funny slogan on a t-shirt that has made me chuckle inside and turned my entire day around.

If you browse the internet for a few minutes you will quickly come across a number of companies that supply funny and witty twins clothing. Twins share a unique bond as it is, so why not purchase a pair of t-shirts that say 'my twin is unique just like me'. It will certainly put a smile on the face of people that you bump into in the street.

Of course there are lots of different versions of twins clothing that you could choose from, but it does seem that most people decide to place twins the same clothing from a young age, so they almost look like a mirror image of one another. Maybe you could break the mould and go for a completely different approach and dress each of them differently. It would certainly be easier to tell them apart if they were wearing different clothing.

The important thing to remember is not to panic. Sometimes when people are informed they are having twins they can get into a blind panic, generally because instead of having one mouth to feed they now have two. You will always manage to get by, twins clothing isn't as expensive as you might think, the government will help you out with family credits and you will be surprised just how much your family will help you out once the new arrivals plan their appearance. Just remember to enjoy it, because life can pass too quickly.

10 Ways To Dress When You Find Out You Are Pregnant And Save Your Wallet Posted By : Adriana Noton

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota
By: Adriana Noton
Post Date: 2010-06-10 So you're pregnant. You are so happy and elated and you want the world to know. But what ever will you wear?? Here are 10 ways to dress when you find out you are pregnant.

The first tip is to avoid temptation and the urge to rush out and buy everything you think you'll need for maternity wear, right now. The things you have to choose from will be too big, and you'll end up noticing later they are too small. Find ways to refurbish the clothes you already have, like buying a specially made maternity belly band to let you keep wearing your favourite jeans. A second tip is to buy transitional clothing from the plus sizes section at a store. It'll be fashionable and cheap and comfortable until you really need maternity clothing.

A third tip suggests buying from second hand or thrift stores. Well cared for maternity clothing will have all the style of full priced clothing but will cost so much less. Since speciality maternity clothing is only worn in the last trimester, it's good to pass it around. A fourth tip suggests talking to friends and family, as women often tend to have babies together. Whoever isn't using theirs may be willing to share with you when it comes to pregnancy clothing.

For a fifth tip, keep your new shape in mind when choosing maternity clothing. Look for A-line cuts that are narrow around the shoulders but flare out at belly level. Empire waists have waistlines just beneath the breasts which are stylish and comfortable. And for a sixth pregnancy dressing tip, consider looking in your mate's closet. A larger button up shirt will look great over a pair of leggings, especially if you roll up the sleeves and add classy bangles or a choker.

Layers make up the seventh tip, because the layered look helps to divide up a solid pregnant shape. Plus, layers can be taken off in pieces which is great since many pregnant women experience hot flashes. Be careful not to look sloppy though, which often happens when people dress in layers.

An eighth tip for women dressing in pregnancy clothing is to not be afraid to show some skin. If you've still got it, it's okay to flaunt it. Many women have great legs during pregnancy, arms as well. And some are proud of their new cleavage. It's okay to show this off, so long as you aren't trying to wear your old non-pregnancy clothing and practically strangling yourself. Be comfortable.

Speaking of comfort, for a ninth tip consider buying clothing to wear during pregnancy that you'll also be able to wear afterwards. Having a baby can be very painful for some women and you won't want to go shopping just yet. The pain can last weeks and for some, months. So wear during pregnancy the same clothes you will wear after baby. A nursing bra can double as a maternity bra and will be a very practical early purchase.

Remember that your body is changing. Your tenth tip in 10 ways to dress when you find out you are pregnant is to respect the changes. Your body is producing relaxin now, for example, which loosens your joints so that your baby can pass through your pelvis. Unfortunately relaxin affects other joints too, especially the feet which will spread in pregnancy. Pregnancy is not a good time to wear your favourite heels. Like all the tips, keep yourself comfortable. This is an amazing time in your life and you can dress to show it off, and look stylish and as comfortable as you should feel!

2 Significant Things You Need to Understand Concerning Teenage Pregnancy Posted By : Jacob Schiffer

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota
By: Jacob Schiffer
Post Date: 2011-03-07 Teenage pregnancy is a very worrying issue among teens because of the negative aspects which go with it, and also the outcomes it gives. Listed here are some valuable information concerning teenage pregnancy that can help raise awareness among family members and perhaps prevent a problematic scenario:

What's teenage pregnancy

Teenage pregnancy is commonly known to involve unmarried minors who accidentally get pregnant. Technically speaking, it's a case of pregnancy prior to a young girl reaches her twentieth birthday. She could be married or not and could either be a minor or a legal mature in her teenage years, between age 14-19, depending on her nation.

What contributes to teen pregnancy

According to the Save the Children Foundation, around 13 million young people are born to ladies before they attain twenty years old. Beyond 90% of the conditions take place in developing countries, with the highest rate from sub-Saharan Africa, where ladies traditionally marry earlier. Listed here are the widespread aspects which generally lead to teenage pregnancy:

* Tradition. Teen pregnancy is prevalent in some nations simply because it is their tradition to marry and also bear kids early. Presently there are actually several nations around the world wherein it is considered a blessing to possess youngsters during the teenage years.
* Peer pressure. One more element that causes teen pregnancy is pressure from peers. A lot of pregnant girls in their teen years say to have been forced by their lovers or perhaps their colleagues to have intercourse. These young adults generally don't understand how to handle this pressure, and express yes, rather. Most of these adolescents lack an awareness concerning intercourse, as well as the outcomes of teen pregnancy.
* Use of illegal drugs and alcoholic drinks. Though no analysis precisely associated the utilization of liquor and also medicines, it has been determined that teen drug and alcohol users are more likely to get involved in sexual activities. There are specific illegal substances, however, that have a lesser correlation with the chance of teenage pregnancy, specially those which decrease sex drive as a side-effect, including heroin.
* Insufficient coaching regarding protected sexual intercourse and access to contraceptives. Many adolescent children are lacking in information about conception and the best way to refrain from this type of outcome. Pregnant kids might also be too shy and also unwilling to question regarding safe making love. At the same time they just do not know much regarding available birth control methods or have restricted access to them. Occasionally, unexpected teen pregnancy takes place to individuals who do not learn how to correctly use condoms or who don't have information on the accurate usage of birth control pills, causing them to ignore drugs on several days and leading to an unplanned conception.
* Age gap between partners. Studies also reveal that younger girls in their younger years with older boyfriends, particularly adult men, tend to have high risk of pregnancy than young adults with boyfriends their own age. These couples, nevertheless, usually carry the baby to term rather than turning to abortion.
* Sexual abuse. Teenager girls who've been intimately mistreated in their younger years also usually get involved in sexual intercourse earlier than those who have not been abused, resulting in more frequent instances of adolescent pregnancy.
* Childhood situation. Several studies reveal that teenage females who're subjected to abuse, domestic abuse, as well as family combats since earlier childhood days are more likely to become pregnant. In the same way, teenage males with this particular type of background will be more likley to impregnate their lovers. The instances grow significantly with the depth of the childhood experience.
* Effect of the media. An additional point affecting the number of instances of teenage pregnancy are the experience of erotic activities through the mass media since childhood. Reports uncover that juveniles who are more often exposed to sexuality via television, newspapers, as well as other kinds of media become more at risk of making love earlier, raising the probabilities of teenage pregnancy.

Kids need correct sex education in order to help avoid teen pregnancy. Government and social awareness programs, as well as good communication between parents and adolescents about sexuality, can help reduce teen pregnancy cases.

Should You Or Shouldn't You? Posted By : Gabriela Rosa

Post Date: 2012-11-01 Working out harder - not longer - reduces the risk of heart disease. It prevents metabolic syndrome - a combination of risk factors including obesity and high blood pressure. A study published in BMJ Open tracked peoples' baseline fitness habits, including workout length and intensity, for 10 years. Those who brisk walked or jogged 2-4 hours a week reduced their risk of MS by 35%-50%. It seems intense exercise "revs up" the cardiovascular system, lowering MS risk factors. Nineteen percent of inactive people develop metabolic syndrome. They don't put the "heart and sole" - of their exercise shoes - into healthy living.

Flu vaccine may lower risk of heart disease. A Canadian study analyzed 4 previous studies involving more than 3,000 people - average age 60 and some with previous heart disease. Participants were randomly assigned to get a flu shot, not to get a shot or to get a placebo shot. Then they were tracked for 1 year. Regardless of heart disease histories, those who had flu shots were 50% less likely to have a heart attack or stroke and 40% less likely to die from one. The flu clogs arteries with plaque and lowers levels of oxygen. Preventing those can prevent "heart-rending" events.

Extra pounds increase the risk of hospitalization. A study published in the International Journal of Obesity obtained the body mass index (height-weight ratio indicating degree of fatness) of about 250,000 adults ages 45 and older. Over the next 2 years the researchers discovered the risk of hospitalization increased 4% for every one BMI point increase - regardless of lifestyle and other health-related factors. One point equals 6-7 pounds. Extra weight seemed most linked to hospitalizations for diabetes, heart disease, chest pain, arthritis and asthma. Sixty-nine percent of Americans are overweight or obese - and seem to be "weighting for the other shoe to drop".

Lifelong smoking cuts women's lives by about11 years. A study published in The Lancet tracked more than 1 million women - average age 55 - from 1996 to 2011. Participants were surveyed about their lifestyle and were re-surveyed 3 years later. At the study's start 20% were smokers, 28% were ex-smokers and 52% never smoked. Those who stopped smoking by age 40 reduced their risk of dying from smoking-related diseases 90%. Those who stopped by age 30 reduced their risk 97%. The results of this study were similar to studies done with men. Obviously, we haven't "come along way, Baby".

The Value Of A Pregnancy Calendar To First Time Mothers Posted By : Dominic Donaldson

By: Dominic Donaldson
Post Date: 2010-06-24 First time pregnancy can be a daunting and scary process. Not every woman is lucky enough to have their mother or a friend on hand to consistently offer valuable advice and a helping hand throughout the nine month cycle. A pregnancy calendar can talk first time mothers through the changes that their body is facing and keep them updated on their own personal progress.

Young mothers in particular may need all the help and support they can get when their pregnancy gets underway. Sex education in schools is constantly improving, but hearing a few facts about the birds and the bees can't possibly prepare any young woman for the feeling of carrying a baby and the process of delivering a child into the world. A lot of the changes that occur during this period will be new feelings and can be quite confusing if not properly explained. An online pregnancy calendar can fill in the gaps between visits to the GP, ensuring that no element of the baby's growth goes unexplained.

The interactivity that one of these online calendars provides mothers-to-be makes it a great resource for learning the relevance of every little physical and hormonal change that the body goes through. The week by week breakdown helps new mothers feel a part of the progress that their foetus is making and learn more about what they could or should be doing to help nurture a healthy child.

Learning the do's and do not's of pregnancy is crucial for women in order to give themselves every chance of producing a baby that is fighting fit. Some are obvious. For example it is more or less taken for granted that every pregnant woman should know that any unhealthy activities such as smoking and drinking alcohol could have a seriously detrimental effect on the development of a child in the womb. However, knowing the right time to have certain tests and whether or not to have them at all is not quite so simple. A pregnancy calendar can really help in this regard.

We can often forget what we wanted or needed to ask when we visit the GP, but the calendar can offer expert advice. For instance, who would know that an amniocentesis test, while seeming a good idea as it tests for serious genetic conditions, carries a 1 in 100 chance of miscarriage so is only recommended for those particularly at risk.

For informed and personal help, a pregnancy calendar is ideal. Keeping up to date with the progress of your pregnancy has never been easier, and in the unlikely event that you forget your due date, the calendar will remember.

Seattle Fertility Clinic For Your Life, Your Body Posted By : Jordan McPelt

Post Date: 2011-02-07 The choice to start up a family is one which most young couples end up deciding on with no trouble. For a small number of couples, that option is trickier to follow through because of some complications, one of them turning out to be infertility. One of the approaches in which infertile people have the option to continue to start their family is through IVF.

In vitro fertilization is the process in which the mans sperm and the female's eggs are joined together in a laboratory and introduced by using a professionally trained doctor. This kind of procedure doesn't always succeed the couple times a couple will try it, but for some, this is the only route they could venture down to have a good chance at having the family they want. In vitro fertilization has many benefits and the success rate can make it a great choice for a certain types of married couples.

IVF is a medical process that couples look to in order to get pregnant if the male has infertility issues, or the woman has clogged, damaged or absent fallopian tubes, or even a condition known as endometriosis. It is also used in a couple that have tried unsuccessfully for a long period of time with out success with unexplained fertility complications.

Immediately after this procedure is chosen, the female has her eggs removed from her ovaries and combined with the mans sperm in a medical laboratory. By doing this, both are able to be fertilized after which transferred to the woman's uterus to find out if a successful pregnancy can take place. The task usually transfers two to four embryos into the woman's uterus, causing multiple births some of the time. The success percentage rate is almost 22.8% live births to egg retrieval, bringing hope to many couples.

IVF was first reported and successfully utilized in 1981 in the United States, and has since produced over 45,000 babies to husbands and wives. The first successful baby to be conceived through this approach was in 1978 to Louise Brown, overseen by doctor Robert G. Edwards. He was the physician who developed this process and has since won the Nobel Prize in Physiology Medicine. This method is considered as being a safe and effective way for couples to achieve parenthood who otherwise have no chance of pregnancy.

It's really a costly approach, with each cycle costing a married couple around $80,000 dollars or more, but for married couples that have their heart set on a boy or girl that belongs to them, it's a great road to go down. Each and every couple should take the time to consider their options and the procedure with their doctor to decide if this is the right process for them.

For husbands and wives that find themselves having trouble conceiving a baby naturally, they have to begin looking at other medical avenues to conceive. IVF has become not only a safe medical alternative, but a successful one.

Though there is always a risk with every medical procedure, it is known to be a relatively safe one for both the female and the man to go through to experience their desire of becoming dads and moms. Every husband and wife deserves the ability to be parents, and this method allows even medically challenged couples the chance to have a child.

Can Fertility Counseling Help A Couple Get Pregnant? Posted By : Stephen Daniels

AppId is over the quota

By: Stephen Daniels
Post Date: 2010-06-23 Having a baby together is a natural step for many couples. But if pregnancy doesn't become a reality relatively quickly, relationships can become overly stressed with guilt and blame, which leads to even more stress. Fertility counseling can help couples process these new emotions, and studies have shown that couples are even more likely to become pregnant with counseling.

The stress and guilt associated with infertility, whether temporary or permanent, can stir up individual and relationship issues that may have been buried or suppressed. Family psychotherapy uses stream of consciousness methods to expose areas of anxiety so they can be dealt with properly. Participating in fertility counseling sessions, either as individuals or as a couple, can be equally effective. The goal is to clear away the noise of failure, lost hope and blame.

Couples with older children or children from a previous marriage may benefit from a family therapy session. This allows the kids to express any restlessness or anxiety they may have about the possibility of a new sibling. Through family counseling, parents can put to rest any fears regarding the children in order to better focus on the pregnancy.

Documented cases have shown that simple everyday stress causes biological symptoms that affect fertility. Women can produce less eggs, and men less sperm. Stress also causes people to adopt unhealthy habits such as smoking, eating and sleeping poorly, drinking more and exercising less. This behavior leads to a lack of intimacy and other relationship problems. In fact, stress, whether due to relationship difficulties or from work, increases cortisol levels. This in turn can cause a hormonal imbalance, which of course can affect fertility. Family and couples counseling can help ease the strain of everyday stress and make the body more prepared for pregnancy.

Practitioners of fertility counseling are licensed and experienced in family psychotherapy and knowledgeable about treatments. They are trained to use family counseling tools to help couples deal with everything from the side effects of fertility drugs to changes in sleeping and eating patterns. They also specialize in helping couples cope with any feelings of guilt, depression and despair associated with failed pregnancies.

If fertility treatments fail, the couple is faced with tough decisions. Do they want to use an egg donor, adopt a baby or older child, or live a life without children? Fertility counseling will open the lines of communication, so decisions are made as a couple with a clear and optimistic look toward the future.

Pregnancy Pain Relief Through Cox Flexion-Distraction Decompression Posted By : Stephen Daniels

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota
By: Stephen Daniels
Post Date: 2010-06-02 Lower back pain is often a symptom that pregnant women experience during the second and third trimesters of their pregnancies. Treatment options are often limited during this time because of the potential dangers to the baby. However, chiropractic adjustments using the Cox Flexion-Distraction Decompression technique can offer the pregnant woman incredible benefits with very little risk.

Developed in 1973 by Dr. James M. Cox, a well-respected, published chiropractor, this technique is a research-based, non-invasive approach to lower back and leg pain relief, even during pregnancy. In the standard procedure, the patient is positioned face down on the chiropractic table; however, because this is nearly impossible for a woman in her second or third trimester to manage, this position is modified for her to lie on her side during treatment.

Once the patient is positioned, the chiropractor gently performs the decompression procedure, which eliminates or significantly reduces the level of pain by releasing the nerves. Depending on the severity of pain, the patient may be seen daily or two to three times per week. Within one month, she could experience about a 50 percent reduction in her pain levels. If the procedure does not appear to be working effectively, the pregnant woman will be evaluated for compliance with the treatment plan and/or the need for further testing.

Since its development, several research studies, including some funded by the United States government, have shown that the Cox procedure reduces disc pressure to as low as 192 mmHg and widens the spinal canal area by as much as 28 percent. In addition, disc height increases, and the spine is realigned. All of this results in improved posture and the ability to move more freely, resulting in relief from the pain and a generally improved sense of well-being.

Compared to other methods of pain management, the Cox technique works more quickly. Research shows that the average patient will show maximum improvement in approximately 29 days in only 12 visits to the chiropractor. More than 90 percent of patients reported significant improvement within the first three months of treatment.

53 percent of chiropractors state that they used Flexion-Distraction Decompression in their practices, making it the third most frequently used method of spinal manipulation. Even so, pregnant women who are experiencing lower back or leg pain should make sure that the chiropractor they are working with is trained and experienced in using the Cox technique on pregnant patients. The doctor should also be licensed to perform treatments in the state in which he or she is practicing.

Chiropractors are trained to view the human body holistically. Not only do they focus on relieving the symptoms of pain; they also work to find and eradicate the root cause. In addition, chiropractors encourage their patients to live healthy lifestyles, which include eating properly, not smoking, getting sufficient physical activity and managing stress - all of which are especially important for pregnant women. Ultimately, non-surgical, hands-on care by a trained chiropractor is the best option for pain management during pregnancy.

3 Simple Teen Driving Tips Parents Can Follow to Enhance the Safety of Their Kids Behind the Wheels Posted By : Jeff D McQueen

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota
By: Jeff D McQueen
Post Date: 2010-08-02 Vehicular accidents are considered to be the leading cause of death among teens who are between 15 to 20 years of age. Finding yourself in a situation where you hand the keys of your car to your kid, may be enough for you to clench your teeth in getting anxious about his safety.

Seeing their teens driving their own cars can make a nervous wreck even out of the calmest of parents. You should know though, that as a parent, you can have a very large impact on your teen's safety. In other words, you can do necessary steps in enhancing the safety of your kid, while he is driving on the road.

To better guide you on the steps you need to take, you can take note of these teen driving tips, to reduce the risk of your kid to vehicular crashes when he is behind the wheels of your vehicle.

1. Before you even hand out the keys of your car to your kid, you should know him better first. Keep in mind that not all teens develop the same way.

In other words, they mature, develop their emotions and become responsible at different stages in their lives, and this also applies in becoming ready to drive. Get to know your kid more, and assess his condition if he is indeed capable of handling himself alone on the road.

One way to do this is to let him drive while you ride at the front seat. Don't just enjoy the ride; instead, observe his little mistakes. You should also take note of his reactions to certain things on the road. With this, you should be able to assess if he is ready for driving or not.

2. When you have already allowed your kid to drive your vehicle or his own vehicle, take note that he needs to be in good condition, to enable himself to properly concentrate on what he is doing. With this, you need to encourage him to take enough time to sleep so that he can regain all his energy the next morning.

Teens need around 9 hours of sleep each night, since they are still on a growing stage. However, many teens are not able to do this, due to a lot of other things they need to attend to, such as homework, sports, part-time jobs, and many more.

Keep in mind that teens lacking in sleep would have lesser hand to eye coordination, longer reaction time, and it affects their vision and judgment.

3. Another thing you can do as a parent is to become a good role model for your kids. Whatever you teach them, make sure to practice it on your own, so that they will look up to you, and follow your lead.

Follow these 3 simple teen driving tips so that you will be able to achieve your goal of keeping your kid safe on the road.

Tips for Losing Weight After Pregnancy Posted By : Jonni Good

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota
By: Jonni Good
Post Date: 2012-07-28 Pregnancy is a wonderful journey for the parents and the whole family. It is fulfilling to know that you created and nursed new life inside of you. However, after the baby is born, most women are left with a lot of excess pounds of fat in their body and find it hard to go back to their pre-pregnancy bodies. Don't worry because losing weight after pregnancy is possible and easy with these tips.

For a healthy body, it is best to start early. For women who have just started their pregnancy and are afraid of the weight gain, don't go on a starvation diet. Pregnant women gain weight for a reason - that's so they have enough calories to sustain both the mother and the baby. If you don't gain enough weight, you are likely to give birth to an undernourished baby. However, you can keep active during pregnancy to avoid gaining too much weight. Walking, stretching and pre-natal yoga are simple exercise that can help you maintain your proper pregnancy weight but it is not too strenuous to cause any harm to you or the baby.

Losing weight after pregnancy is still possible even if you haven't had a head start. Before trying to shed the pounds, make sure that you give yourself enough time to recover from giving birth so that your body can focus on burning calories instead of healing your body. You could also end up causing more damage if you work out before your body has completely healed. Don't be pressured by celebrities' miraculous achievements that only take a month. The reasonable time for recovery is usually about a month to two months.

The best weight loss program really is a combination of diet and exercise. While you may be eager to get back to your healthier body, start slow with easier and lighter exercises. You haven't had the chance to work out hard for nine months and you need time to build your fitness level and strength back up. Since you will be looking after your newborn child, you will have a full schedule and you need an exercise that will energize you, not deplete your energy. Squeeze a half hour of jogging or brisk walking at the start of your day. Throughout the day, you can jog for a few minutes while or in between doing your chores.

Aside from aerobic exercises, you need to strength train. Start by doing bicep curls with 2-pound weights or pelvic tilts. While you want to shrink that tummy as fast as you can, do not overwork your abs. Your abdominal muscles have been under a lot of pressure and might have weakened during pregnancy so build their strength slowly.

For your diet, you should replace some of your carbohydrates with lean protein or vegetables. Since you don't have to eat for two people anymore, you don't have to eat a lot. As much as you should avoid overeating, you should not starve yourself because you will be breastfeeding. Eat a lot of vegetables so your breast milk can provide nutrients to your baby.

Any type of weight loss should ideally be a shift to a healthier lifestyle. When it comes to losing weight after pregnancy, the biggest tip is to be patient. When you feel healthier and stronger, it might not manifest right away in your body but it doesn't mean you do not have progress. It is hard to devote your time to losing all that weight without giving up time to look after your newborn.
