Post Date: 2011-04-20 The choice to start a family is one which a lot of young couples find themselves deciding on with no issues. For a small number of couples, that choice is tougher to do through due to some difficulties, one of them being infertility. One of several solutions by which infertile married couples have the opportunity to still start their family is through IVF. In vitro fertilization is the process in which the mans sperm and the womans eggs are put together in a laboratory and injected by using a professionally trained doctor. This particular process doesnt always get the job done the couple times a couple attempts it, but for several, this is the only route they could venture down to have a chance at the kids they want. In vitro fertilization has a lot of benefits and the effectiveness makes it an ideal choice for a certain types of people.

IVF is a medical process that couples turn to get pregnant if the man is having infertility problems, or the woman has blocked, damaged or missing fallopian tubes, or simply a medical problem called endometriosis. It is also used in partners that have tried unsuccessfully for a long period of time without any luck and with unexplained fertility complications. Once this procedure is decided on, the woman has her eggs taken from her ovaries and combined with the males semen in a medical laboratory. This way, the two are usually fertilized after which put back in the womans uterus to see if a healthy pregnancy can take place. The procedure usually transfers two to four embryos back into the womans uterus, contributing to multiple births some of the time. The success percentage rate is almost 23 percent live births to egg retrieval, bringing hope to many married couples.

IVF was initially reported and successfully used in 1981 in the United States, and has since brought over 45,000 babies to husbands and wives. The first successful newborn to be conceived through this approach was in 1978 to Louise Brown, supervised by doctor Robert G. Edwards. He was the doctor who advanced this process and has since won the Nobel Prize in Physiology Medicine. This method is said to be a safe and effective way for husbands and wives to attain being a parent who otherwise have zero chance for having a child. It can be a costly approach, with each cycle running a couple almost 80,000 dollars or more, but for married couples which have their heart set on a boy or girl that belongs to them, its a amazing path to travel down. Each and every couple should invest time to discuss their options and the procedure with their medical professional to decide if this is an appropriate procedure for them.

For married couples that find they are having difficulty conceiving a child naturally, they need to begin looking at other medical avenues to conceive. IVF has become not only a safe medical alternative, but a successful one. Though theres always a risk with every medical procedure, it is said to be a relatively safe one for the woman and the male to have to have their desire of being dads and moms. Every husband and wife deserves the ability to be dads and moms, and this method gives even medically challenged couples the opportunity to have a child.
